Library statistics I’d like to see

Here are data I’d like to see posted1 on my public library website:

  1. Number of cardholders
  2. Number of patrons that have used their cards 0, 6, 12 and 24 or more times in the past 6 months
  3. Circulation by reader group
  4. Number of programs held during previous 6 months, total patron attendance and average attendance per program
  5. Number of museum passes, total circulation for past 6 months and average circulation per pass
  6. Website usage from within and outside the library.  Total hits, 3 most visited pages, average length of visit for those pages

    That’s exactly what many libraries do. I used to do that at my last library. We keep track of that information monthly for each branch of our library, but we don’t post it.

    We do discuss it at our board meetings though.

      Hi Jeff – good to know I’m in synch … So I’m now curious to know how public libraries use this info and if they’d be willing to share it with the public regularly on their websites.
