Because I believe the coming decade will be pivotal for American public libraries, I’m changing things up a bit to focus more on “reading the tea leaves”.
Blog Posts
Posts in the coming year will be more analytical and longer than most of last year’s. Like An Inflection Point for Public Libraries, they’ll examine broad issues and trends for their impact on libraries (or libraries’ impact on them).
Pointers and Shout Outs
I’ll continue with pointers and shout outs to good work of interest to advocates and librarians. Most of them will come via Twitter versus the blog, so folks interested in this surveillance may want to follow on Twitter or pull the twitter feed into an RSS reader. You can also get the most recent tweets from the blog’s sidebar.
Resources
Photo Friday will continue, along with updates to the library blog directory and recommended reading & references. To further develop the blog as a resource for advocates and libraries, I’ve also added RSS feeds to the sidebar.
I’ll also continue building the library of Good Ideas for Public Libraries. In 2009, I asked just about all the tough questions I know of and will turn my attention to posting new ideas for marketing, services and process improvement.
Guest Authors
Passionate about libraries? Have something to say but can’t devote the time to maintaining a blog? If so, I’d love to hear from you. Drop me a line with an abstract or idea.
Do or Die Decade
My next post will be “Do or Die Decade for Public Libraries“. Please stay tuned … and keep the faith.
